voorprogramma : Little Kim & The Alley Apple

The story of “Little Kim & the Alley Apple 3” begins with an ad in the music section of “Den Artiest”. By the end of 2005 Kimberly (vocals) was looking for a new musical project ... in the tradition of the great female performers of the hot jazz era, like: Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Blossom Dearie, Kay Starr, The Boswell Sisters, Bessie Smith, Mildred Bailey, ...

By the time Tom (Guitar) answered her ad ... he had already gathered around two fine musicians: the boy wonder of the lap steel guitar Pat Cattoir & the man with a plan Slappin’ Slim (Bull Fiddle). Their intention was to go on the road with self written material ... in a traditional honky tonk style ... the kind Hank Williams would have liked .

When Kimberly and the gang finally met on a cold and windy winter evening, you could tell ... there was an immediate spark of inspiration between the four ... a spark that hasn’t dimmed since ...

Originals & Traditionals: The outcome was obvious ... ‘cause what do you get when you mix twenties styled hot jazz vocals and honky tonk? That’s right: Western Swing! Gradually, “Little Kim & the Alley Apple 3” developed their own unique style ... a nice mixture of western swing, hot club and old fashioned twenties hot jazz ’n cool swing. Originals and traditionals, reminiscent of the 1910s, 20s, 30s and 40s and played like they were meant to be played: no frills, no gimmicks, no drums, ... Just pure melodies you can’t seem to get out of your head. This journey, which began with a small ad, has brought them to the strangest places - from the biggest festivals to the smallest pubs in town. The joy of making and performing music, always carrying with them in their heart ...

Warm, Hees en Zwoel, waar denk je aan ? Voortaan zal dat Jackobond zijn. Riet Muylaert, een telg uit de Studio Herman Teirlinck familie, schittert met songs die juweeltjes zijn. Een originele mix van persoonlijke teksten en eigenzinnige arrangementen met humor. Steeds eerlijk en recht uit het hart, en in het Vlaams. Stef Bos merkte op dat Jackobond de meest authentieke en mooiste zangstem heeft van de Lage Landen. Dit mag ze in december 2009 gaan bewijzen in het theater Orpheus in Apeldoorn waar ze Stef Bos vergezelt in een unieke voorstelling met Het Metropole Orkest. Jackobond was eerder ook al op tournee met Liesebeth List.
Michel Bisceglia producete het debuutalbum van Jackobond in 2008, getiteld ‘Alsof’. Prachtige arrangementen voor strijkers en piano. De single ‘Lalala’ en ‘Groot Feest’ werden een hit op Radio 2. Met de single ‘Groot Feest’ won ze zonet dé doorbraak van 2009 ter gelegenheid van Zomerhit. Jackobond won tevens in het voorjaar van 2009 overtuigend de 4de editie van ‘Zo is er Maar Eén’. De commentaren van de jury als ‘eenzame klasse, een stem als dauwdruppeltjes op een ochtendblad’ zeggen genoeg.
In het voorjaar van 2010 wordt het nieuwe album van Jackobond verwacht.
Jackobond bestaat uit de volgende muzikanten : Riet Muylaert (zang), Florejan Verschueren (piano), Stefan Wellens (altviool, gitaar), Tim Vandenbergh (contrabas) en Geert Roefs (drums).
